Città del Mare Hotel & Resort, built 32 years ago, is one of the first resorts in Italy. It is well known and well appreciated internationally. Located 19 kms from Palermo airport, in a spectacular setting, perched on a range of hills, surrounded by a five acre natural park overlooking the Gulf of Castellammare. All 750 rooms in 21 blocks available in two categories, face the sea or the park. The hotel Resort Città del Mare offers a very good choice of activities a client would want to find from the point of view of entertainment, sport and shows. The program presented weekly by Calipso covers all ages and all tastes.
Sport
Calipso organizes daily tournaments of mini football, tennis, volleyball, ping pong, “bocce”, minigolf, besides daily free classes in archery, aerobics, step, stretching and water gymnastics. A fitness center equipped with machines for body building is available for those who like to exercise. Moreover, it is possible to sign up for spinning lessons which are held daily by instructors certified by the Italian Spinning Federation. Even the youngest will find programs and tournaments addressed exclusively to their needs by the Mini Club and the Young Club.
Entertainment
From morning to night the Calipso entertainers involve the clients with games and activities. Games in the swimming pool, swimmining competitions, water polo tournaments, canoe relays. Games with prizes (Like a free aperitif) group dances, and the COFFEEGAME, a very amusing and carefree game which is played after dinner. This is a way to mingle and spend a happy time with the Equipe playing simple but enthusing games.
Shows
The evening program changes every fortnight and alternates games with participation of the public with shows of a very good quality where the audience often plays the part of protagonists.
For those who prefer another kind of evening, it's possible to enjoy a good movie, take part in the evening tournament, or to listen to good music at the piano bar.
At night
At the height of the season, Calipso organizes something new every evening for those who prefer to stay up late. The theme parties at the Pontone, nights at the pub will offer nigth person a way to have fun till dawn.
Mini Club
It operates all year. It offers entertainment and specific assistance to children 3 to 12 years of age. It uses areas equipped with playground, swimming pool and a pine grove. From 26 June to 10 September it offers a non-stop service with entertainers and it includes lunch.
Young Club
It operatesd in July/August. Special programs for youngsters 13 to 17 years old.
